Battery recycling challenge drives collective action

To mark World Environment Day, we organised a battery recycling competition across Aphrodite Hills Resort to raise awareness of responsible waste management and encourage battery recycling. Running from 13-20 June 2025, the competition invited staff from all departments to bring in used and unwanted batteries for safe disposal and recycling.

The initiative received an excellent response, with a total of 9 kg of batteries collected during the competition week, 1 kg from the resort and 8 kg from the hotel. In addition, the hotel collected a further 50 kg of batteries prior to the competition. Altogether, 59 kg of batteries were diverted from landfill and sent for recycling on 23 June 2025, demonstrating the positive impact of collective action across the resort.
