The aim of the Fairway Grass Selection Trial at Royal QLD Golf Club is to conduct a thorough, fair, and independent assessment of various turf varieties available for the fairways, tees, and green surrounds as part of the golf course’s future development. This process will ensure that the most appropriate varieties are ultimately chosen, providing the desired playing surfaces and aesthetic appeal while considering the needs of members, tournament play, and maintenance requirements.

Key parameters included in the assessment are: thatch accumulation, recovery/repair rate, playability, weed/pest/disease tolerance, salt tolerance, density, and colour rating.
