Over the past few years, we have witnessed Arabian Red Foxes across both golf courses living in temporary burrows or under bridges. Since the start of 2019 that has changed and we have seen a family of Foxes take up more permanent residency on the 5th hole of the Earth Course.
Along with the new home have come two fox cubs which show how important golf courses are in urban settings where habitat loss is an ever-growing threat. The den is situated perfectly in a slightly secluded spot on the side of a hill with ample tree cover offering shade in the hot Arabian sun. The best time to visit is of course at daybreak when we often see the family returning home from their evening hunt. We have roped off the area and will keep the den protected and undisturbed as long as our native guests would like to stay.
