After a three years absence due to the COVID pandemic, Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus, was very excited to host the Aphrodite Hills Annual Team Cup 2022. The Aphrodite Hills Team Cup is one of our most prestigious annual events. This year the tournament fell within the first ever ‘Sustainable Golf Week’, and we took this opportunity to support GEO Foundation and celebrate the industry’s efforts to build a greener future for the game.
Supporting our sustainability quest, we have chosen for this event to support local businesses and reduce our carbon footprint and have used EU Ecolabel and recycled paper for signage. Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus, raised the remarkable amount of €2107 from green fee vouchers let on auction. The team donated half of the funds to the Captain’s Day charity, supporting the ‘Cancer Foundation’ in Paphos and the other half was donated to the ‘Love of Life’ Foundation as part of the Aphrodite Hills Resort commitment. We will continue to take each opportunity to promote and support the best environmental and sustainable practices.
