During 2023, Paul Bontemps, our golf course's head greenkeeper, was lucky enough to take part in the first training course dedicated to the integrated management of bio-aggressors on sports turf. The course, in 7 modules of 7 hours each, covered topics such as :

• Analysis of environmental factors, knowledge of soils and how they function.
• Plant physiology and edaphic conditions.
• Pests, diseases and turfgrass competitors.
• Watering management.
• The principles and operation of biocontrol.
• Setting up a biocontrol program and strategy.
• Optimizing the tools and resources available.

This highly innovative training program uses practical workshops to give learners a better grasp of the new alternative methods available to us, as well as a better understanding of the new environmental directives. This new certification obtained by the Golf du Rhin will, we hope, enable us to look forward more serenely to the ecological transition that awaits us.
