Lincoln Golf Club is implementing sustainable practices aimed at reducing fuel consumption while fostering local wildlife. One such practice is leaving the rough longer in areas deemed "out of play," resulting in significant savings on fuel, lower emissions, and providing an ideal environment for wildlife to thrive. By naturalising the rough, the club also enhances biodiversity, creating habitats for various species and promoting a healthier ecosystem.
Additionally, several bird boxes have been installed throughout the course to encourage bird populations, providing essential nesting spaces for local species. Looking ahead to 2025, the club plans to establish a designated wildlife area in an out-of-play section to the left of the 7th tee. This initiative will further promote wildlife conservation, offering a safe haven for flora and fauna.
