Adding a Bug Hotel to the Wildflower Meadow

Llandudno (Maesdu) Golf Club

In one of our wildflower meadows, we have built a new bug hotel for our golf course invertebrate life. These bug hotels are great for insects and other "minibeasts" to shelter from the harsh weather conditions that we can sometimes have in sunny North Wales. It will also allow invertebrates to hide from various predators as well as raise their young. We have spaces for ladybirds in the pine cones as well as dead wood for centipedes, beetles and woodlice. This is a great project for a rainy shed day using old scraps of wood and bits and bobs from off of the course as well as cardboard packing from deliveries. The hotel will be fully booked in no time!
