After a wonderful year of favorable weather, the green roof atop the Seaford Head clubhouse truly demonstrated its seamless integration with the natural environment. The grasses and blossoms on the roof perfectly mirror the adjacent wildflower areas and grasslands. Additionally, the roof features sun tunnels and solar water heating systems, contributing to reduced energy costs.
The clubhouse was officially opened by Peter Alliss following its redevelopment and construction in 2015. Part of the planning involved incorporating a green roof turfed with a specially cultivated blend of wildflowers and grasses. This design reflects the indigenous flora within the site and the Seaford Head Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
