2022
Minthis is beautifully located in the wine producing region of Paphos and has become renowned for producing its very own wine over the past years. 2022 signifies our 7th consecutive wine harvest. Since the first harvest in 2016, 28,3 tons of indigenous Mavro grapes have been hand-picked on the course. Encircling the historic monastery, all vineyards inside the golf course have been marked as ESA (Environmentally Sensitive Areas).
This year, for the first time we were also able to harvest our new Shiraz vines which were planted in 2020 on the course. The yield from this crop produced an extra 550kg, proving another worthwhile project of the Golf Club’s sustainability action plan. The new Shiraz will be blended with the Mavro grapes and bottled at Tsangarides winery in the neighboring village of Lemona. Besides red and rosé wine, the brandy-like, local ‘Zivania’ is distilled from the produce of the golf course. It is to be particularly enjoyed by players on the cooler days. The resort also produces white wine since 2020 and this year’s Xynisteri grape harvest saw a record 6000kg! All Minthis wines can be tasted at the Clubhouse Restaurant overlooking the golf course – Golf and Wine in Cyprus at its finest!
