When Jack's Point was being designed and laid out, a number of existing wetlands were included, at the time completely degraded and polluted due to the presence of livestock (cattle). The club understood their responsibility to enhance their landscape and in building the course this objective became paramount.
The wetland habitats have added instant character and definition to the course as well as benefitted the biodiversity of the landscape. Now, as much as 3 hectares of the site is set aside to regenerate wetland environments. Water quality of these is monitored annually and a significant improvement in has been found, with reduced levels of phosphates and nitrogen. No-spray zones with a minimum width of 5 metres have been also been established to protect these ecologically valuable habitats.
