Paolo Croce is an agronomist who received his degree in Crop’s Science and Technology at University of Perugia (Italy). He was also trained at the Texas A & M University (College Station - Texas) under the world renowned Professor James Beard. This is particularly important with regards to understanding the relevant agronomic management of golf courses in hot climates. He has been Assistant of Prof. James Beard during Beard’s European Technical Visits.
Croce has been Director of Italian Golf Federation Green Section for 17 years. He is now lecturer at University of Pisa where he is also managing a research programme on warm season grasses with trial plots at San Domenico Golf (Brindisi - Italy), Cosmopolitan G.C. (Pisa – Italy) and Montecchia G.C. (Padova – Italy); on cool season grasses in Manerbio (Brescia - Italy). In 2008 he has been also Lecturer at University of Catania for an International Master on Turfgrasses .
Since 1994 he is involved in environmental problems related with golf at European level and he is now member of the Scientific Network of Golf Environment Organisation (G.E.O.). Of the same organisation he also a verifier.
He is consultant for Golf Courses Construction and Maintenance in 16 different sites.
He played in the National Junior Team as golf player (hcp 4).

A graduate of the University of Perugia (Italy) in Crop's Science and Tecnology, Paolo trained at Texas A&M University (USA) under the world renowned Professor James B. Beard. He has been Director of the Italian Golf Federation Green Section for 17 years and a teacher at the National School of Golf.
In 1994 Paolo became one of the first members of the European Golf Association's Ecology Unit, subsequently the Committed to Green Foundation. He has been working with the Golf Environment Organization since its foundation.
Over the last 30 years Paolo has worked with hundreds of Golf Courses in Italy, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, Isle of Mauritius, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and the USA. More recently he has been undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental strategies for both private or public clients.
Paolo collaborates with University of Pisa (Italy) and its Ce.R.T.E.S. (Sport Turfgrasses Research Center) where he is involved in turf researches, particularly on warm-season grasses. He is co author of ”Tappeti Erbosi” the only book on turf grasses in the Italian language. He played Golf at the level of the Italian National Junior Team.
